A quick thought.
How many of you think that when we talk about digital that it just means only using digital tools? Go on hands up.
Well my hand is not raised.
It is easy to assume that by using digital tools and communications that no human interaction takes place.
Well it is fairly obvious that this is not the case to my mind.
Digital is a nice supporting tool and of course there are more and better tools than ever before. But when I look, for example, at the digital community in the public sector what do I see?
Well Teacamp, Govcamp, lots of informal chats and cups of coffee.
I do not see how this community would exist purely online. Does any?
As I just said to a colleague its not a good idea to go to a job interview and just talk about online interactions and not how you will back them up offline.
No digital might be by default, but we are at fault if we forget the human side of things and do not talk to each other and socialise.
